October 20th, 2003 - Got word that I might have a commercial font on the system. I have removed the offending offering and all is well in the world!
September 23rd, 2003 - Completed converting the fonts pages into PHP generated pages. This saves me 8Mb of disk space for more fonts! Also the pages are now automated, which makes the job of adding new fonts much easier. I had a momentary outage at 10am due to accidentally deleting all the fonts. Fortunately my server keeps a back up and had the fonts back in almost no time. Sorry about the inconvenience.
September 18th, 2003 - Fixed a bunch of font links. I had a number of files that were mislabeled or misplaced in the directory. I also fixed the problem with the clipart page, I had over written the clipart page with some junk I was playing with and blew it up!
August 19th, 2003 - Added 29 more images to the clipart pages, mostly "heraldry" and "building" items. Check out the church stain glass windows and window tracings!
August 13th, 2003 - The Clipart pages are fully operationly here at this domain! Yay! No more bandwidth issues. I will start redirectly traffic from the GeoCities Clipart site tomorrow.
August 6th, 2003 - Item of note, I have removed the Flash menu system on the left side of all my pages and replaced it with a traditional HTML/Javascript version. Easier to maintain. Also I am moving the Clipart site from GeoCities to this domain, so soon it will actually *work* over here! I will leave the GeoCities one up until I am totally sure that the LordKyl.net one is fully operational! Guestbook and Contact pages are still broken for the time being on a lot of the pages.
August 4th, 2003 - Has this site been abandoned? No, but it has been, unfortunately, ignored while I handle other projects and the joys of parenthood! I am going to be revamping the site with my new PHP and MySQL access here at Yahoo!World, so look for changes on the horizon. Hopefully this will enable me to update with new fonts and clipart and other goodies in the days ahead. New email for the fonts site: Fonts@LordKyl.net, clipart -> Clipart@LordKyl.net, heraldry -> Herald@LordKyl.net, and webrings -> WebRings@LordKyl.net.
May 30th, 2002 Things are progressing nicely with moving all my stuff over to the new domain. I have been working on my heraldry stuff recently. In particular, I have been updating my Illustrated Heraldic Glossary, adding new terms and new images. Please visit and let me know what you think. My various contact pages should be up and running soon. The one on the WebRing pages is currently functional if you need to contact me, or just email me at Kyl@LordKyl.net as usual. I have been getting a LOT of spam so please preface your subject line with "CONTACT" or something equally eye-catching.
April 17th, 2002 The Fonts page is more or less complete. I do notice an occasional missing image, but am trying to get them straightened out. The WebRings home pages have been moved over here, and are found at webrings.LordKyl.net.
I am presently working on moving the Heraldry site (and updating it too). It is at heraldry.LordKyl.net and should be (mostly) functional at this time. Clipart will be the last to move over and the most problematic. I am getting rid of the JavaScript based system that it currently employs and moving to the generated pages, similar to the way the fonts are setup, but I need to write the software to do it.
January 12th, 2002 I have been working on a new format for the font pages themselves, widen the whole thing so that the whole frame look works better. Along with that I am renaming a lot of the archives so that I can avoid duplication, so please bear with me. A few files at a time will become temporarily unavailable or the links will be broken to some of the author pages. I am working on it all, but with the large number of fonts here, it does take a lot of time and effort!
December 30th, 2001 Bah, humbug on the Flash controls. More trouble than they are worth. I am reverting all the way back to my roots and am going with a more conventional HTML/Javascript based pages that are written, not generated. The larger files I am moving to another server and simply will be cross-linked to my pages. Hopefully that will solve the problems once and fore all. I am introducing frames to reduce file page size, but hopefully there won't be too much problems with that! For a couple days there might be a problem with sub-framing, but I am working to get that resolved ASAP!
December 28th, 2001 I have been working on a Flash control to display fonts so that the bandwidth from the pages being rendered over and over is diminished. Alas, I have been hoisted by my own petard! The flash file I am using is being repeatably cached because I am passing parameters to it like a web page. All the fonts I have created are using this method and I am working to go around this problem. Hand Tight!
I have resolved the issue with Linotype. I have sent them information about the font in question and have removed the font. This has satisfied them and I have to pay no fees. Whew!
I have updated some of the links on the Utilities page. Some had died off or moved without my knowing and thankfully one of my good visitors pointed out the error in my ways. No new links have yet been added, though.
November 16th, 2001 Added more Flash files to the site to cut down on the HTML being put out with every file. I also want to acknowledge the site that so kindly generated the navigation buttons for my: FlashButtons.com.

Quick note to let you know I am starting to pare down the pages a bit
to conserve on bandwidth. Also, the opening of
Font Borg is going to be
delayed until I can figure this bandwidth mess out. Too many projects...
November 2nd, 2001
Been a while since my last update. Still trying to figure out what to
do about the bandwidth issues. Price of fame, I guess! Part of the reason for
the delay is that I am working on some other sites and trying to learn
to use Flash! Please visit
The American Blackbelt Karate Academy website to see what I have been up to!
Some news today: I recieved a treatening email from the people at LinoType informating me that I am in violation of their copyright for having the font "Ondine" on this site. But if I get rid of it and pay them $300 for legal fees, I can get out of jail free. Turns out that the Ondine I have is the Uncial font that Scriptorium produced. I let the legal beagles know that and let them know that I won't be sending them any money. I have pulled the font from the site for now until this mess is straightened out. Keep me in your prayers, folks!

New addition, the Latest Additions link. These pages are the listing of
all the new fonts that have been added this summer, from most recent to the
oldest. As new fonts are added, this listing will increase in size.
September 9th, 2001
I have updated the Fonts by Author page to include more information about
the creators of these wonderful fonts. The information I have gathered (ie website,
email, address, etc.) are all found either within the font archive file or is
available elsewhere on the web. Authors, if you see any incorrect information, or
wish any of your information withheld, please feel free to contact me.
September 8th, 2001
I have updated the Links page. The older version was one that was left over
from the old site, long long ago, and a lot of the links were invalid. These
links should be somewhat fresh, only a couple of months old front when I was gathering
the fresh new crop of fonts. Please, if you see a dead link, let me know so that
I can weed my garden!
September 5th, 2001
I rebuilt the Category List page. Before I was using JavaScript to interpret
the XML that I use to hold the main data, but the link it was producing was
invalid. I corrected the link and changed the schema to use the generated HTML
like the other pages.
I added a new intro page for the Font Borg site, hopefully it will be ready by the first of October. Take a look and let me know what you link of the artwork for the placeholder.
I've gotton a lot of feedback lately.
Please keep it coming, I read it all,
although not everyday. I have had a few good ideas coming in, so look for
some improvements coming up. One good idea is a "Latest Additions"
page, to let you know what has been added lately. That is near the top
of my list.

Here we go! Most of the basic pages are up and operational now. You can
find your fonts by Alphabetical order, by Author and by Category. I have uploaded
a parsed Authors page, broken into 3 so that it is not so long. Still working
on the final format. The Category page is now present. I have updated the titles
on the Alpha and Category pages as well.
August 23rd, 2001
I have added a new entry page for the Alphabetical Listing of the fonts and
generated a quick version of the Fonts by Author page. I will be changing the latter
soon so that all the authors are not all listed on one HUGE page! Still working on
Categories and trying to get the categories icons completed.
I had to move a bunch of fonts to make room for the new generated pages (7.5Mb of html pages, yuck!) so be aware that not all the links are valid. I still need to go through and verify everything, and will do so after all the pages are up in a reasonably working manner!
INPUT, MUST HAVE INPUT! Please let me know what you think and if there is anything you would recommend!
August 22nd, 2001
Good news!
I have completed the initial work on the Alphabetical listing of the fonts
and have uploaded the pages. You should now have the option of "Display by
Alphabetical Order" when you click on "The Fonts" navigation bar.
Fair Warning that I do not have the categorical and author-based
fonts pages uploaded yet. There are links to them with the Alphabetical pages that
will be legit, just there are no files yet. Also I am working on some icons for
the pages, so don't be surprises to find missing image files!
For the most part I have given up on using JavaScript to manage the fonts pages. All the files were generated anyhow, and simply generating the HTML cuts out the middle man and makes it more stable.
August 13th, 2001
Well, this is definitely taking longer than I thought, so I apologize to all my visitors. Things have gotten
very busy lately, so I have not had the time to devote to the project as must as I'd like. However, the
database file that I am using is (mostly) completed, and the archive files are all located where they
should be, so I generated a temporary file to allow access to the archives. Follow the
Fonts link on the left to the temp page. All the fonts are listed on one page, with the file size and their
eventual category listing.
I am working on getting all the preview images generated and uploaded (no easy task for 400+ fonts), and once that is done, I will be finishing the javascript to generate the finished pages. Expect a couple of version of the temporary files as I add functionality.
Also, I am finishing work on some new fonts of my one. Yes, for the first time since 1998, I will grace the Web with my own work. I am generating a number of historal fonts, as well as some fun Sci Fi fonts for use with my upcoming Font Borg site. Font Borg will be a version of my font site that is specifically for the more Sci Fi and Artsy fonts that have not really fit in with my established Genre. But I loved them too much to get rid of them. Look for more news about Font Borg after everything is finished here!
July 30th, 2001
Added the Java banner to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Please
take a moment and visit. You could save a life.
July 20th, 2001
Finished updating my Make Your Own Fonts
pages with the new look and feel and cleaned up some of the
text. The flow should work a lot better now.
July 9th, 2001
Well the changes that need to happen are taking longer than I thought. Lots of files
are being moved around and the images are in a new directory, so the old files are
worthless. I should, hopefully, have some temporary files up soon.
In the meantime, so if you see something really, really want, but can't get to it, drop me a note at
fonts@LordKyl.net and I'll see what I can do!
